DPP BLESSED WITH FOUR NEW DOMINICAN PRIESTS

Quezon City, Philippines – November 12, 2024 – A day of great joy and grace unfolded as the Dominican Order welcomed four new priests into its fold. Rev. Fr. Siddharta Bayona Chiong, OP, Rev. Fr. Wilhelm Bautista Bonon, OP, Rev. Fr. Ian Joeffrey Gonzaga Melendres, OP, and Rev. Fr. Sandy Cornel Alerta, OP, were ordained to the priesthood at Santo Domingo Church, Quezon City.
The ordination Mass was presided over by the Most Rev. Napoleon B. Sipalay Jr., OP, DD, Bishop of Alaminos, Pangasinan, who imparted the sacrament of Holy Orders through the imposition of hands and the consecratory prayer.
his sacred moment marks the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of these friars as they embark on their mission to preach the Gospel and serve God’s people. Rooted in the charism of St. Dominic de Guzman, they are now called to be shepherds, guiding the faithful with wisdom, compassion, and unwavering faith.
The celebration was attended by Dominican friars, family members, friends, and members of the Dominican Family, who gathered to witness and support the newly ordained in their sacred calling. Their journey to priesthood is a testament to God’s faithfulness and the unwavering support of the Dominican community.
As they begin their ministry, may they be strengthened by the grace of the Good Shepherd, inspired by the zeal of St. Dominic, and filled with the love of Christ in their mission of preaching and evangelization. The Dominican Province of the Philippines rejoices and prays for their fruitful service in the Church and the Order.
