DPPI seeks to integrate Salamanca New World Process in academic institutions during the OP Dialogue for Peace and Justice

The community extension and community development offices of the Dominican Province of the Philippines, Inc. (DPPI) aim to build a stronger network for community engagement, Service-Learning, justice, peace, and integrity of creation, during the “OP Dialogue for Peace and Justice” held at UST, Manila on June 2, 2025. 

The institutions that participated in the event included the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Manila, UST General Santos, UST – Legazpi, UST Angelicum College – Quezon City, Angelicum School Iloilo, Colegio de San Juan de Letran – Manila, Colegio de San Juan de Letran – Bataan, Colegio de San Juan de Letran – Calamba.

Administrators and staff from the invited DPPI schools shared and delved into their community engagement and Service-Learning practices while pondering how to integrate the Salamanca New World Process, a framework popularized by the Dominican friars of the 16th century in Latin America. It highlights the process of study, research, analysis, and action in addressing the world's challenges. 

Through this dialogue, DPPI schools intend to reinforce their commitment to meaningful and compassionate programs embodying the Dominican spirit: the pursuit of the truth, the commitment to justice, and the call to serve. This communion hopes to continue the collaboration with each other, to learn from one another, and to amplify the collective impact as agents of social transformation.
