New Academic Year Begins with the Mass of the Holy Spirit

The Philippine Dominican Center of Institutional Studies (PDCIS) and the Institute of Preaching (IP) celebrated the Mass of the Holy Spirit to mark the formal opening of Academic Year 2026–2027.

The Holy Eucharist was presided over by the Prior Provincial, Very Rev. Fr. Filemon I. dela Cruz, Jr., OP, with the Dominican priests from various communities concelebrating. Joining the celebration were Dominican brothers and sisters, alongside the families and friends of the brethren.

In his homily, Rev. Fr. Laurence Ryan Mata, OP, reminded the brothers, especially those in initial formation, to remain open to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit directs us where to go, what to learn, and what to do, ultimately guiding us toward becoming the image of the Son of God, Whom we praise, we bless, and we preach.

Let us keep these student brothers in our prayers, asking for the gifts of wisdom and understanding as they strive to be faithful Preachers of Truth and Grace.
