Br. Glendale P. Ancheta, OP

On two separate dates, three batches of Dominican student-brothers in simple vows renewed their profession for another year at the hands of Br. Filemon I. Dela Cruz, Jr., OP, Prior Provincial of the Dominican Province of the Philippines, during a rite integrated with the Evening Prayer held at the oratory of the Dominican Studentate.

The first batch of student-brothers renewed their vows on May 25, 2025, sixth Sunday of Easter. The four brothers belong to batch 2020 and batch 2021. In his homily, Br. Dela Cruz likened formation in Religious Life to sports.

He stressed that just like in athletic teams wherein a player has to manifest his intention and prove his skills by living up to the demands of the game, the same is true with religious formation where a candidate manifests the sincerity of his intention by seriously and faithfully keeping with the demands of one’s religious consecration.

The second batch of simply professed student-brothers renewed their vows on June 21, 2025, the vigil for the Solemnity of Corpus Christi and was composed of nine simply professed brothers from batch 2022.

On this occasion, the Prior Provincial emphasized that a religious must imbibe honesty and courage as he journeys in his formation so that he may be able to live an authentic religious life.
