Promoters and delegates of OP priestly fraternities gather for an international conference in Rome

Thirty-eight participants from various Dominican Provinces around the world gathered for the International Conference of the Priestly Fraternities of Saint Dominic, held at Casa La Salle in Rome, Italy, from June 22 to 25, 2025.

The delegates included Provincial Promoters, along with Priors and selected members of the represented Chapters.

Among the speakers at the conference were Br. Vivian Boland, OP (Ireland), who spoke on Dominican spirituality and the ongoing formation of priests, and Br. Michael Monshau, OP (USA), who offered insights and practical guidelines for the growth and development of the Fraternities. Group sharing and discussions followed each presentation.

Towards the end of the conference, the following diocesan members were elected to represent the Priestly Fraternities in the wider Dominican Family:

A highlight of the conference was the delegates’ participation in the Vespers and Eucharistic Celebration with the Dominican community, presided over by the Master of the Order, Br. Gerard Francisco Timoner III, OP, at the Basilica di Santa Sabina on June 24, 2025.

The conference concluded with the Master of the Order's official appointment of Br. Raul Gomez, OP (Colombia) as the new General Promoter of the Priestly Fraternities, succeeding Br. Florentino Bolo Jr., OP (Philippines), who had faithfully served in the role since 2011.
