New Aspirants Begin Formation at Our Lady of the Rosary Seminary, Sri Lanka

On Feb. 1, 2026, eight candidates began their formation as aspirants at the Our Lady of the Rosary Seminary in Katana, Sri Lanka. The new aspirants are B. Chatura Janith, W. S. Onel Fernando, B. Shenel Deshan, A. W. A. D. Adeesha Dewmin, R. A. D. Diyon Sanketh, H. P. Sasheendu Janeesha, J. M. Dineth Perera, and J. Sithija Akash Perera.

The welcome ceremony featured a solemn celebration of the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Br. Adikari Arachchige Don Asanka Melroy, OP (Superior and Formator). He was joined by Br. Jayalath Balagalla Alfred Dias, OP, and Br. Sandy C. Alerta, OP.

The candidates’ families were also in attendance, who joined them in prayer and fellowship. Following the Mass, Br. Melroy met with the parents to discuss the regulations and the path of spiritual formation within the formation house.

The program concluded with commemorative photographs and an agape.
