10 New Novices Clothed in the Dominican Habit

Calamba, Laguna – May 10, 2025 – The Dominican Province of the Philippines joyfully received ten new brothers into the novitiate during the Rite of Vestition held last May 10, 2025, at the St. Albert the Great Chapel in Calamba, Laguna. This significant event marks the beginning of their religious formation in the Order of Preachers.
Clothed in the black and white habit of St. Dominic, the newly vested novices now formally embark on a journey of prayer, study, and discernment.
The new Dominican novices are:

Bro. K.A. Tehan Sampath Sri Dalas Perera
Bro. Francis Hyle M. De Leon
Bro. Rassched Chevy U. Avilla
Bro. Yoga Dwi Kaswara
Bro. Cherwi Jonatan
Bro. Lawrence J. Pacatang
Bro. Michael S. Pepania Jr.
Bro. Khen Airon A. Yonzon
The Holy Mass and Vestition Rite were presided over by Br. Filemon I. Dela Cruz, Jr., OP, Prior Provincial of the Dominican Province of the Philippines, assisted by Br. Lauro de Dios, OP, Prior of St. Albert the Great Convent, and Br. Roger Quirao, OP, Master of Novices.
After the celebration, the brothers traveled to the Dominican Novitiate of the Annunciation in Manaoag, Pangasinan, where they will spend their canonical novitiate year immersed in community life and spiritual formation as they continue discerning their vocation.
Let us keep these brothers in our prayers as they follow Christ in the footsteps of St. Dominic.
